This species of bee balm grows beautiful lavender flowers.  The preferred species by many herbalists for medicine.  The entire plant is highly aromatic and smells and tastes amazing and distinctive. Use the flowering tops for teas, honeys, elixers and more! Warming and mildly stimulating in nature, bee balm aids digestion, helps fight colds and flus, and is especially indicated in the presence of a cold and wet cough.  Delicious as a tea, elixer or honey.  Infused oil makes a nice chest rub.  Insectary plant that increases the abundance of beneficial insects in the garden.  Easy. Prefers full sun to part shade.  Thrives in moist soils but will do just fine in a wide range of soil types, including well-drained.  Flowers to 3-4 ft. Spreads easily throughout the garden.  Hardy perennial to Zone 4.
