Classic wonderful and witchy plant for the garden, but be careful it spreads and is difficult to remove once established.  Plant on its own separate from the garden.  Very useful plant to have around.  The genus Artemesia is associated with goddess Artemis/ Diana and is connected with the moon, intuition and dreaming.  Mugwort is often placed beneath the pillow or used in a dream pillow to help induce prophetic and divinatory dreams.   The boughs can be can be made into a purifying and clearing smudge.  Medicinally it is powerful.  It is is known for its nervine (calming) effects and is nice as a tea, tincture or herbal smoke.  It is a nice warming bitter and is useful for poor sluggish digestion that is cold in nature.  Chew the young tops in early spring, add them to your salads or infuse in vinegar to capture these properties.  Known for its blood-moving/ circulatory-stimulating effects, the cousin of this plant is used to make moxa.  Easy plant to grow.  Prefers full sun to part shade and readily grows in poor, gravelly, nutrient deficient soils- definitely in the “earth healer” tribe of plants.  Will do fine in regular garden soil as well.  Flowers to 4-5 ft.  Hardy perennial to Zone 4.
