Elegant and medicinal member of the lily family.  Stalk emerges in early spring and can reach up to 4 ft in height, gracefully arching over the garden, its bell-shaped flowers dangling from leaf axials along the underside of the stem.  The white, thick and knobby roots are the medicine.  Excellent for musculo-skeletal issues, including torn muscles and ligaments, and broken bones, and speeds recovery and healing from surgery for these issues as well.  Can be used internally as a tea or tincture or externally as an oil, liniment, compress and so on.  Prefers part shade and grows well in average garden soils. Hardy perennial to Zone 5.
