WILD GINGER (ASARUM CANADENSE)

9.95

Special little northeastern native woodland medicinal with dark, shiny heart shaped leaves and the most remarkable flower hiding beneath the leaves in early spring.  The roots are decisively spicy and may be used as an alternative to true ginger.  It is also a mild digestive aid and anti-spasmodic but is a low dose medicinal and may be toxic in higher doses.  Makes a perfect groundcover plant in any shaded area and is tolerant of a variety of different soils.   Propagated by ants!  Hardy to Zone 3.
